| Who would you like to see go the the finals?? And of corse my first answer would be ME, lol. But what I mean is the girls that do good in the circuits around the nation but don't have the money to go all over the country all year. They have the talent and the horse power but don't have the bottomless bank account. (not saying that all of the girls at the NFR have that, because I know some of them work hard have done good and have saved for lots of years to get there!!)

| I'm sort of tired of hearing that tired argument that the finals can only be made if you are loaded.
It insinuates that finals qualification is purchased instead of earned and frankly that's a big ole steaming pile of bullsh
There are folks every year, that are not loaded that make it.

| I dont know a lot of big names but there are a few local girls I would like to see test their horsepower in the T&M. Plus up here in MN, we run in a lot of tiny indoors... advantage maybe? but probably not.
ETA I think I would have liked to see Lena May run at the T&M with of course BB Rockinas!!!!

| Sorry I disagree.. money is a huge issue... I dont understand how someone could argue its not. I know a VERY good team roper that would be there if he had the money to haul no ifs ands or buts hes very talented. |

If he is that good somebody would be picking him up as a partner and he would be going down the road.
Have seen more than one guy get mounted and hauled because of their ability.

YES! I also hope Jackie Ganter makes it soon! I know she's not 18 yet though. |

But why isn't it doable if you don't have a ton of money? There has to be a way!! |

Your so right with your picks. Annessa, should have a great shot this year since she is going to the winter rodeos. Angie, she's always a serious threat when the right mount is under her. I see Andrea Cline making it on a limited amount of runs much like you see Lisa Lockhart rodeo. (They have committments to home and client horses.) We should see Callie du Perier making a serious run at the rookie title she may have Jana Bean or Stacy Grimes with her riding shot gun but both of those ladies are tuff and take a hunk of the pot at any race they enter. |

Jackie has a couple of more years. Her mom is an amazing women, and was a great competitor in her own right before she started to see that her daughter got the amazing mounts. I haven't talked to her in a while but don't count Angela out either! |

Thank you! I can tell you that money does factor in for someone like me. I don't come from a family that has alot of $ so I have to make all my own. Basically if I run into a dry spell the truck payment, trailer payment, house payment, insurance payment is scratching at the door. Buying feed, tires, fuel, vet maintenance on top of that is very hard for someone without deep pockets. A person with deep pockets can get thru the dry spells with 0 worry how those bills get paid. Stress from fiancial worries is not a joke. A person like me doesn't have mom or dad or a trust fund to get me through. I'm not good at selling myself as I'm far too shy and I have a pride thing at asking people for money to help me with my goal. That seems selfish to me but I know a ton of barrel racers do it and so do people in other events. I already know that I can compete and win against the very best out there and I'm thankful that I can do it on more than just 1 or 2 horses. I am thankful that I can train horses and I am good at that. I have alot more respect for someone that wins at that level that don't come from money. They have to go through money stress and I know what that feels like. I whole heartedly believe if I had deep pockets I would be a household name such as Sherry or Brittany. |

Location: sunny california | Everyone needs a support system. Money can buy a lot of that! If you don't have money nor the benefit of being raised in a rodeo family then you are at a disadvantage. Connections can help create opportunities that would not be available to everyone.
Money removes almost all hurdles. the only ones it can't remove are lack of talent, desire or work ethic.
I know plenty of talented riders that have hurdles that keep them close to home. |
