| Nateracer - 2013-12-10 8:47 AM Horses before the NFR - 75-100,000 I'd say.
Horses after the NFR - 150-250,000 or more depeding on rounds won etc.
Or in Stingray's case - PRICELESS
What did Hot Shot sell to Steinhoff's for after he went to the NFR?? Or did they buy him before that....I can't remember.
IMO those are some cheap prices for NFR quality horses. That is just my honest opinion though!!! |

Considering Bozo cost like $850 total, I think it's ok. Not all of the horses running there were bought to be NFR horses, just rodeo horses in general. You can pick up a nice rodeo horse for even less than I mentioned. Just look at the ads! But Sometimes the right person clicks with a horse and history is made. |

| Just to clarify my opinion: If the horse that holds the arena record in Brazil went for over $400,000…. Think about what the NFR horses make each year, then think about their worth as either a breeding stallion, or a mare down the road. As far as a gelding I know you cannot breed them, but again think about the money those horses have won year in and year out. As far as horses pre NFR….of course you can buy some cheap cheap horses out there. I was assuming that it was horses that were on the way to qualifying for the NFR, or were just out of qualifying. Maybe it is because I have been around some high priced horses that have sold for a lot of money that are not even rodeoed on that I feel this way. No one has to agree with me-in my opinion I just think those are some low prices when a lot of things are factored into it. I would love to know what Duke’s LTE are. You know that those horses would be worth AT LEAST that.
Again-at the end of the day these are just opinions. I don't really care if someone doesn't like mine. |

| A lot depends on whose barn the horse is in when it is for sale someone who,has a really nice horse and in a place not know for, high power rodeo horses let alone 1-d type horses like good regional horses the person selling will not for themmost part get moneymfor them compaired someone who, hauls regular to big shows, rodeo. I had a really nice mare, that i showed locally and at the 1-d shows i had just ran a very nice run at a large nbha show had a person follow me back to the stall offer me good money, i turned it down, same year another big nbha show, a very well known trainer told me if i ever wanted to sell he would be interested, this person had ridden my mares, dam in furtities. But them several years later she messed up stifle, but she will always have a place in my barn, i bred her and have a weanie by her and have a carbon copy. |
