Fred was talking about his new book the other night at the NFR. My son got a copy somewhere and my d-i-l started it and she gives it two thumbs up. She said that she was really impressed and could not put it down.

I ordered a copy off his website. He said that all books ordered through there he will personally autograph. The night they had him commentating during the tie down they asked him a few questions. I had no clue that his mom shot his dad because he beat her! Made me want to cry. I'm really anxious to get the book and read it.

On tv the other night he looked like he had captured the fountain of youth. He looked so young to me. Maybe it was just because he was clean shaven & used to always have a gotee or moustache or something.

Is the book an autobiography? I had no idea he was a writer or anything about his history. Always thought he was one stand up roper though. Great guy.

Yes its an autobiography. Its amazing what he became in life for what he lived through. Not only the abuse from his dad but just imagine being a young black teen wanting to rope back in those days. He made the comment that people wouldn't let him ride or touch their horses because he was black.
