If it were me I wouldn't want a housekeeper.  I guess I'm weird but also private and don't want a stranger in my house.  I'd also clean before the housekeeper got here.
I'm an avid reader and down load books on my smart phone.   THere's better things out there I'm sure but I'm a technotard so don't know the names.  If she likes to read maybe one of those along with a gift certificate for money towards downloading the books.  Something great to take along to be occupied between tournament games, rodeo events etc.

I new this would be the place to go for ideas!!! Why would she need a house keeper when she has me? BAAAHAHAHA Great ideas keep them coming. These have given me an idea, but I may need more if it doesn't work out.

I'd be all over the housekeeper for a year. One day a week or one day every 2 weeks would make life a heck of alot easier. It's the perfect gift for a busy mom and it's the gift that gives all year! Yowwzza thats a cool idea!

Is she the one that cleans stalls and such?  You could hire a kid for that task to help her out and free up some time

graciemay - 2013-12-17 12:24 PM A housekeeper. Honestly, ours come very two weeks. I would give up Starbucks before I give her up.
That's big lol I don't know what to get a wife but I got my mom a super cool coffee thermos, made her a scarf and blanket, and she loves to read and loves funny stuff so I got her a couple books and this http://www.thecatconnection.com/cat/Bad-Cat-Book.html

Exactly.  In my opinion, gifts like these are gifts you give to your mother, not your lover.  If you have listened to her, there is probably something special she would like to have - something that is personal to her.  Being a rodeo and baseball mom is what she does, and a small gift like a stadium chair would be fine as long as you gift her with something that speaks to her as your woman.
My daughters mother in law is a very practical, no frills woman who lives in a small farming community.  Every year, hubby would buy something like an easy chair, or something for the house that would make her chores easier.  So one year he asked my daughter to help him and she called me.  We selected a nice diamond necklace for her (the man had never bought her a personal, feminine gift) and some perfume that she would never have paid the price for.  She literally cried for 2 days.

My husband got me an awesome early Christmas gift . . . a hydraulic bale spike for my truck.  He was so excited that it came with a switch for the truck cab so I no longer need to hitch up to a buggy and crank bales up and down in all weather.

See if there is an area in which you can get something that will make a task easier or a way to give her more free time . . . better than jewelry in my opinion :)

Get her a nice tote (somethig she could use over) and make her a goody bag. You could put one main item like a new hat, boots or what ever. Then just put things she can use. Examples, boot socks, home made soaps, gloves, treats for the horses, bell boots, special coffee, coffee mug, chocolates, gift certificate, I think you get my point. You better get movin!

We're softball people and the Crazy Heifer has the COOLEST bleacher chairs and benches. Cup holders and all. Great for rodeos too! Comes in a couple colors.

Those look very comfy!! I drive school bus and drive the sport kids, it sure would save on bleacher butt.

Awesome! I have ideas for her birthday and valentine that will be coming up.

My 6yo son gave me something that she said she liked (a charm bracelet)...... I did not take her for wanting a charm bracelet, but that will make a good gift for me to get to give to her from him.

Charm bracelet would be awesome and you can add to them for years to come.

I really like this idea....... I am going to do this for my MIL. She lives about a mile down the road from us and she cooks us dinner half the time anyway. She will think this is great. Thanks for the idea.
