Personally, I think it as the wrong choice. Makes one wonder what they were thinking. |

Location: ND | if the article is accurate.....it's another stupid move, imo, by the PRCA....i wonder how much about this TV deal the top contestants knew about and had a voice in....since they were all about their voices being heard and what was best for them and their paydays.....seems like they turned down a way better tv deal that would have added money to the contestants for a deal that takes money from the contestants.....either way, CBSSN will have no risk, no loss and no incentive to to produce great results.....good thing the PRCA is gettting more money offered from orlando to make up what they are losing on tv.... |

Does anybody know how much Wrangler paysΒ to be the title sponsor?
Β
l would guess a lot more than a million a year.....and i would guess they sponsor individuals as well.....although i honestly can't think of anyone in particular off the top of my head......but i would bet that there are other sponsors that would likely step up to try to take wranglers place......maybe not.....however, what's best for wranglers marketing (of which, CBBSn) is probably a better move than GAC or RFD, isn't necessarily the best move for the PRCA.....and perhaps wrangler is footing the bill and not the prca... |

If the difference in reach really is 95M vs 65M, the value to a title sponsor could certainly exceed $1m. That would be true for anybody that won the title sponsor bid.
none of that underscores the fact that PRCA leadership has failed to market a product that demands a large contract from a network with a large reach. |

Didn't Stressman COME from Wrangler to the PRCA, after the Ellerman Scandal? Doesn't that seem like a conflict of interest? ?? |

| My observations is that RFD-TV is partnered with The American. Could this have anything to do with the PRCA going in another direction? Sorta cut-off-your-nose to spite your face mentality? |

| Okay, so RFD-TV was offering 200 hours for the NFR and other events. The PRCA is going to pay CBS for 48 hours. Now, the GAC telecast this year was 4 hours per for 10 days equals 40 hours. That doesn't leave much time for other events, or the NFR coverage will be cut.
Does anyone know why GAC appears to not want to continue with the NFR? This is the only reason I get GAC.

http://forums.barrelhorseworld.com/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=442029&start=61 There is information in this thread from rachellyn80 about Jeff Medders connection to the NFR telecast. She posted what he told her. He has a production company & his company produces the telecast. He assured her that they would have the same coverage & everyone would still see every run or ride. |
