LoL...
We had a rescue basset 10 years ago. My son wanted a Basset for his birthday and not wanting the whole puppy stage again, I told him we'd get one from a rescue. We got "Bubba" from a rescue in Houston. He was a sickly senior dog with terrible teeth and heart problems, but he had the funniest personality. Our husky would put her paw on his bed and he would just wail. If we looked the husky, she would take her foot way only to put it back up again and he'd wail. He hoarded his toys too. What was his...was his. He wouldn't share. He refused to go on walks, but cried if we left him at home, so we bought a wagon and put some blankets in it. We towed that heavy lard all around while we walked. He ended up dying from heart failure, but we had 5 or 6 quality years with him and he had a boy that doted on him. I love bassets.

I just love these guys.  Fred is a little more outgoing and loves everything and everyone.  Ethel is a little more reserved.  I don't think either one had too much attention but Fred has discovered how good it feels to have his belly rubbed and will just flop over now.  Neither one knows what to do with a squeeky toy but Ethel loves her chew bones.  Patch, the corgi and Fred's favorite game is to take the blankets out of the doghouses and play tug a war with them...it is soooo dang funny to watch :)

Awww, so cute! My grandmother is a Basset hoarder and has three at the moment. Their farts always smell like something dead and they lay around on the couch and just seem to melt into the cushions, but they're so cute
