She's real quiet, been turned out for 6 months, lunged for 10 minutes and then rode last night, real quiet, like dead quiet, forward momentum is not her thing right now hahah, she sure can be stubborn though. I know people are on both sides of the fence on Two Eyed Jacks but what about the rest of her breeding???? Any help is very appreciated!!!

I'll bump for another look and give my 2 cents.

I recoginize nothing but the poco waaaay back on the bottom side.  "Might" be able to run a bit, but won't be super fast IMO.  TEJ are sometimes tough eggs to crack but they are usually Tough when needed too.

With that pedigree, I would want her to be 5 panel tested before I bought her.

Several of her bloodlines are known to carry genetic defects. The 5 panel test would let you know if she is a carrier for any of them or not. If she tested clean & is built nice I'd have no problem riding one with that pedigree though.

My family has had 2 Two Eyed Jack mares (3/4 sisters) over the years and they both were super sweet horses, good workers, and never backed down from a cow. However, the TEJ was on the dam side, and Poco Bueno was on the sire side.

Her breeding isn't fancy, as most things are pretty far back like the TEJ and Sonny Dee Bar, but I do like those old lines.

She'd be worth a second look in my book. Although I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't turn out to be the fastest horse on earth, she's not exactly bred for speed. But who knows.

Thank you all, the people who own her have let her sit for 6 months and have asked me to do something with her. I lunged her last night for 5 minutes and got on and she felt like an old trail horse! Slower then molassas with zero forward motion and stubborn!!! but she did not take one bad step, even loping on the wrong lead on a circle she was balanced. I don't think the owners know as much as they let on they were going on about how amazingly bred she is, and the one said she was off the track but i find that hard to believe.....She was quiet though!!!!!!! I tacked her up and she could care less. Most horses who have been off for 6 months are antsy and ready to go....not this old cow poke!!!

I agree, with that pedigree I'd want to have her tested. HERDA and PSSM would be my main concerns.
