Location: Philly | Looking for a new to us trailer and have found a couple with slats on the curb side (instead of bus windows or drops). we won't even look at one with only the windows and prefer the drops (what we have), but how is the air flow with the rear slats, with drops on head side? better/worse/about the same as drops on the curb side? |

I would ONLY consider trailers with either slats or drop downs on the curb side. Just not enough airflow with the bus windows. |

Location: Salem Ky | If the trailer isn't insulated, I would have slats. I was worried with the Shadow trailer I bought back in the summer. I has two big bus type windows on the curb and drops on the other. But thankfully since it is insulated, and has vents above each stall. They stay comfortable even in the summer. It is cooler IN the trailer then out. |

Location: Missouri | I've never had drops at the tail, but I do like my slats. They're easy to put in/out, although my trailer is only a 2h. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I like drops so I don't have to store/keep up with the deals to close the slats. And you do get a little more air flow with drops, although I think the slats give you plenty. The only advantage to slats I can see is they don't tempt crazy horses to jump out the window. LOL |

| The key to drops and bus on the back is a drop on the first hole slot. Mine gets plenty of air through mine but it's also because I have a drop on the backdoor also. In the summer, I still slide mine back one slot on my 4H if I'm hauling 3. |

Location: Here | I put screens on my rear drops. it really helped too much air and the horses loading and unloading didnt want to stick their noses out any more. |

Location: Willows, CA | I prefer drops on the hip. Slats flow plenty of air and cost less, but, I don't want to bother putting the plexi in and out. Screens on the drops do make loading easier if your horse tends to stick their noses out while loading if the drops are down. As mentioned above, a drop in the back door really increases air flow. |
