Subject: Kiptys Charger as sire or broodmare sire?

Location: Over by those oil wells, TX

I thought if I started a new thread on him I might get more info. He is the maternal grandsire of a horse I just bought but I've never heard of him talked about. My horse's mama is Classic Angle. Does anyone know anything about Kiptys Charger horses?

I'm going to say he wasn't overly well known at either, but that doesn't mean anything, especially for a barrel prospect. He could have died young, gotten bought and sold or just fell through the cracks after his successful track career (earned over $300,000). He does have a ton of fillies listed on allbreed so I would assume he sired more females although not accurate as AQHA. You could check AQHA and see if any of his daughters had any big stakes winners. He was bred to daughters of really nices stallions.

I googled to see if I could find anything else on him. He sired Indy Charger, who I think is a barrel horse and nice sire in MI. http://www.runninghardproducts.com/aboutus.sc

What a wealth of information you found!

It's cool there are some performance points in there. I do wonder what happened and why he might not have been used as a barrel horse sire more often but back then there were probably some other popular sires and it would be interesting to know if maybe his stud fee had something to do with it too. That's always a factor seems like. Thank you again!!

wyoming barrel racer - 2014-01-07 11:17 AM I'm going to say he wasn't overly well known at either, but that doesn't mean anything, especially for a barrel prospect. He could have died young, gotten bought and sold or just fell through the cracks after his successful track career (earned over $300,000). He does have a ton of fillies listed on allbreed so I would assume he sired more females although not accurate as AQHA. You could check AQHA and see if any of his daughters had any big stakes winners. He was bred to daughters of really nices stallions.

I googled to see if I could find anything else on him. He sired Indy Charger, who I think is a barrel horse and nice sire in MI. http://www.runninghardproducts.com/aboutus.sc

I actually love to look up bloodlines. It's one of the most fun things about getting a new horse. I didn't know a thing about show horses until I bought my hunter under saddle colt. It was a blast reading up on his background.

He is the maternal grandsire of Kipadeucy. Kipadeucy himself was a AAA, stakes winning race horse. He was also a producer of runners AND barrel horses. The horse that there is a post about right now, Scooten Ta Fame, is out of a Kipadeucy daughter. I bred 2 mares to Kipadeucy, got 2 really nice, easy to get along with fillies. They are 13yo this year.
