They come through Louisville once or twice a year, I have heard it is HECTIC. We have a few things we would love to take just out of curiosity, most of it is heirlooms that have been passed down we would never dream of parting with.
If you have ever been to one let me know your experience!

Location: MD | I went to Antiques Road Show many years ago in Miami, FL. It is crazy, for sure! Huge turnout! When you first get there, they ask what you have to be appraised and point you to the correct area for that appraiser. Depending on what item you have, the lines may be longer, or shorter than others. I had taken two violins, both of which were of rather high quality. There were two experts working the Musical Instruments table on the day that I went. The first "expert" paid very little attention to the first violin when I opened the case. He never picked it up, looked at it in the case, lying on the table and gave me a $500 estimate. When I laughed and said that I would not be showing him the second, the other expert took note and came over. After examining the violin which was already on the table, the expert asked to see the other violin, which was still in my hand. Upon examining it, he then called over a camera crew. There was a brief consultation, regarding both violins. I presented them with all of the documentation that I had on both and I actually got very nice appraisals on both pieces. That was all due to the second expert. Had it not been for him, I would have considered the day a complete waste. In all fairness, I don't think that the first expert was a dolt, I just felt that he was tired, having a bad day and certainly probably didn't expect a 21 year old kid to walk in with the items that I did, so he didn't pay any attention.
