| When you are selling or buying a horse in a private sale situation, what is your expectations in regards to staying in contact with the person?
For example. If you are selling a horse to someone, are you willing to help those people in the future, answer any questions they may have in regards to care of that particular horse, barrel racing that horse, ect?
For example, if you are buying a horse from a private seller, that you do not know personally, do you hope you can stay in contact with the seller if you need any help with the horse or questions answered?
I always keep an open door policy to someone buying a horse from me. They can contact me with the good, bad, and ugly. JMO. No right answer, just looking for input. |

| I love hearing the good, of course, but I'm here for the bad or ugly too on any horse I sell. I didn't like the one call I got from the second new owner of one of my guys who had started chewing wood and trying to blame me and drag me into a law suit. Besides that nutcase woman I've worked through a couple bads. I've also been blessed to have one buyer become a great friend, helper, and partner for team penning on the horse she bought from me. |

| There are always some good, and not so good stories. I have become friends with the majority of the people who have purchased horses from me also. Thank you for the input! |

| I am an open book and most of the time too honest when selling horses, i use fb all the time as a business tool, i post good days, bad days, sick days, sore days... everything, i have nothing to hide. I love to stay in contact with new owners, if they have trouble i can help them. If they try and say I am being dishonest about anything I let them refer back to my fb, i have daily videos and blogs on every horse i ride. |

Location: Montana | My old mare I sold I kept in touch with the buyers, and even though that mare has passed on now, we still email once in a while. The people I bought my current mare from is mother/mother-in-law to the people I board my horse with, so I pretty much keep in touch with them one way or another. I don't mind keeping in touch, actually I prefer to. I want to know how my horse is doing, and if things are going good with a horse I purchased, I'm happy to report. :) |

Location: Somewhere around here | I sold a horse to a girl a few years ago and we actually kept in touch. She used to FB message me questions about the horse if he was being odd or if he ever had problems with something and I would help her out as much as possible. We even have become cyber workout buddies this year and we share a lot of the same interests. For the most part though I don't really keep in contact with people who have bought a horse from me and visa versa. |

| I bought a horse from a gal out of state. He was not very far along on the pattern. I love to send her occassional updates and pictures. Especially if we make some giant step forward in our progress!! I think she likes it. |

Location: Deep South | I for one LOVE hearing from people who have bought horses from me. Several of them have kept in touch reguarly, a few we never hear from again. But the ones that we hear from often enjoy sending us updates and tagging us in pics/videos on FB. We have only sold finished horses in the past, and are upfront about any previous issues/injuries, and honest about the horses abilities. So we mostly receive good updates, and their latest successes, but of course with horses there's always something. So they also mention when the horse is injured or needing special care, or maybe "I've been a little off on my first barrel the past few runs, any suggestions?" Things like that.
I've got two personal horses in my barn right now, and talk to the people I bought them from reguarly. They are both young horses and the sellers are interested in how they are progressing. Both sellers have actually become clients after selling me horses. I just like keeping in touch people. :) |

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | I LOVE to hear about the horses I've sold. Some people are good about keeping me in the loop and some are less forthcoming. If I know who has a horse I raised (1st, 2nd or 45676516541 owner) I will occasionally (once a year) send them a message asking how they are doing. I was able to buy a filly back from one person that had a change in life plan. I was able to change that filly's future by getting her more training and selling her to someone who will use her for what she was bred to do. That's the best case scenario. |

Location: IOWA, still waiting on the short bus!! lol | I sold a gelding to a wonderful family, but then they got divorced, and it all went to he{{ in a hand basket, after a couple address changes on emails, finally got back in touch, only to find out the horse was lame, bc he got kicked, long story short, he was put down, I was sick, so be careful, good luck |
