Are there lymph nodes in the lower neck almost where neck ties into body/chest?
my horse has a large swollen area here on one side. Its nowhere near his head or throat latch area. There's no runny nose or drainage. But he's laying down. Not rolling. Just laying down. I'm headed back to barn now to check his temp.

had the Vet out. better to be safe than sorry. it was a big hematoma. he aspirated bloody serum. guess he had been kicked by a pasture mate.
he had no never when I went back to the barn with a thermometer to check.
