Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | Does anyone have personal experience with any sons or daughters of this horse. He has stood his entire life in California. I see him pedigrees all the time and have never heard anything about the disposition and aptitude they have. Any really good barrel turners by him? |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | I have a daughter. She is loaded with black type. First three dams are stakes winners and/or stakes producers. She is out of a 1/4 million dollar earning daughter of Easy Jet. I am told that her 1st foal by King Corona is a 1D barrel horse. I, honestly, never confirmed that or know much more. His name is JJ Prince Corona. She is very easy going except when she foals. She is a handful for about 2 months. I guess it's the hormones. She is about 15.1 and very wide. I have a 2 year old colt out of her that has a very powerful take off and short speed. I would own another one like her. I put her for sale all the time lol, but just because I think I need to downsize and need a break lol. Her pedigee:

Location: Desert Land | I don't know a lot about them from the direct get perspective, but I know I love him as a broodmare sire. I know a ton of horses here in So Cal that are out of RAS daughters. |

Location: TX | I have a raise a secret daughter that is a full sister to no secret here's dam, dicey secret. Our mare is dicey sis. I love love love her. She has the coolest laid back disposition. Last year she was so heavy right before she was due that while in the foaling stall she had stocked up horrible...I literally sat on the ground and wrapped all 4 legs with my BOTs and she never moved a muscle. She's 14 so I know she hasn't had her legs wrapped since she was at the track. She is also a super easy foaler..I stalked the foaling camera religiously. Checked on her at 12 one night, she was up eating hay, completely normal, no sweating..woke up at 2 & the baby was already standing! She had to have just laid down and popped her out!! I would have a barn full of them! She is really cool. |

That's why I asked. I just didn't know any personally. I see them all the time in the Heritage sale and the California Pacific Coast sale. I would like to try one someday.
I had a filly by Much Fine Gold, a son of L'Natural that I raised. She is FAST, beautiful, smart, people lover, everything I love about a horse. She was also spooky and unfocused. Slow mentally and physically to mature. Not really a natural on barrels but eventually she got it. Loved poles, really loved poles. I sold her when she was 6. It took until she was 8-9 to grow up mentally. She is 18 now and still running at the top of her ability. They don't want to quit running her to breed her. Just wondered about RAS's mind and body... if they took after the L'Natural side. |

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | I saw the article in the Speedhorse Barrel Stallion Register where that's one of the few "Corona" bred horses to make really nice barrel horses. King Corona is a full to CC. They said KC was sold to Brazil. I wonder if the fact that KC sired a barrel horse has more to do with the RAS side. Don't mind me...I think about stuff like this all the time. lol
Let's expand the topic some. Who thinks Corona horses are going show up in the barrel pens and win in the near future and who is going to be the most influential? Sons of Corona Cartel or others? Is that the next go to bloodline?

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | Mind wise, my mare and colt are fine. Colt hasn't given me any problems training. He has learned quickly. The mare only wigs out right after foaling, but it only lasts a couple months. Not bad, just a different personality.
The colt is a little slow maturing. He is still a little short and needs to fill out some. I just wouldn't race him til at least the end of 2 years, if I were to race him. I really think that he is more of a barrel horse.....and this is just me guessing and speculating lol. He has a powerful take off from standing still and he doesn't last as long as some of my other babies when they race each other in the pasture. He get's the first call though.
I had 3 King Corona's and they were excellent. I hated that they shipped him to Brazile. One went to a barrel home, but I've never heard from her again. The other two raced and had good speed. They were level headed and easy to train.....a pleasure to own. I really think that we are going to see more and more CC's in the pen. |
