I never got to know Melissa personally but she has a special place in my heart. She was
A true fighter. I pray for her beautiful family every day.

Location: Bastrop, Texas | It was amazing how she handled everything but it was so hard watching her decline. I still remember when she posted about the bad news. We exchanged a couple PMs. Even though she was sad and afraid, her strength and courage always overshadowed everything else. Clearly to me she was a woman who dearly loved her family, and had an unshakable faith in God.
It's amazing to me how you can develop a certain closeness with people you've never met on here. When I learned of my leukemia, one of the first things I did was share the news on here. Say what you want about the shortcomings of BHW, on the whole it's a pretty amazing community. |
