I'm needing to shed some pounds too. One thing a friend told me a while back was to each Italian dressing with my salad and to mix it with water so that it goes further. I can't eat straight Italian since I've started that. It also saves you calories since you won't be eating as much dressing to mask the taste of the salad.
(Can you see why I have a hard time losing weight?! I don't like salads.
)
Amazingly a good salad tastes great without salad dressing. Try it.
That's a matter of opinion! I'm at least going to put a little oil and vinegar on there.

I just use balsamic vinegar dressing.
