I've posted before about my bad roommate situation and have to say after taking all of your advice the situation has improved immensely... However we have a new problem. She has an (outdoor) rabbit that has mange and refuses to do anything to treat him. It's getting worse and I'm done nagging her about getting it taken care of.

Is there anything I can give him or use topically that will get rid of it? I really don't want to have to take him to the vet but it's cruel to watch him suffer like this and I'm just not that kind of person and will if I have to.

I've read online about using topical selamectin (revolution) to treat mange in rabbits, also very tiny doses of oral Ivermectin to do the same thing. Are there any other options or have any of you guys tried the above medications?

Also good news... If I can stick it out a couple more months she is moving out!

Without going to the vet, you don't know exactly what type of mange you're dealing with, so won't know the best way to treat it.
This goes along with the thread about how some people don't even need a pet rock! Poor bunny!

SO TRUE! I'm going to call my local vet today after class and see what he would charge to take a peek at the bunny, I hope it's not too expensive but oh well if it is I can't just watch this poor little guy be so miserable.

I was hoping for a multi-type mange treatment but from what I'm reading other than Revolution (which comes from the vet anyway) there's not much out there... plus bunnies are so hard to doctor because not many vets have rabbit experience. This type of thing is why i don't raise bunnies anymore.
