Does anyone use EquiLix and just feed hay twice a day?

On their website it says:
Provide an adequate source of good quality forage at all times.

But then it also says:
The above feeding directions are general guidelines and will vary with the overall feeding conditions. Always adapt to your specific requirements.

Depends on your horse, we have a couple that would do OK like this but most of ours need more calories.  I do like the Equilix because I feel like it covers anything they may be missing and its salty so they drink more in the cold weather.

We have a couple really easy keepers that we were only giving grain (Bluebonnet Intensify) for the vitamins and minerals because I couldn't find a good block around here that had everything I wanted. I really like everything in Equilix. I would have to have it shipped to me. I guess I was concerned about them being on this lick and not having free choice hay or pasture.

I think as long as the amount of hay is providing the calories they need, you should be fine.  I would rather have limited good quality hay than lesser quality free choice hay.
