| Who has ridden a Playgun baby? I'm interested in a Playgun/Highbrow Hickory cross, but haven't ever ridden either one of them.... Any suggestions?? |

Location: Louisiana | I have three geldings by a grandson of Playgun (Preferred Gun) and by a Tanguery Mare, one by a Hancock Mare, and one by a Doc Tari mare. They are truly awesome horses, great minds, very versatile. We run barrels, poles, team rope, flag rodeos, etc on them.

I rode a High Brow CD x a daughter of Playgun as a 2yo, he was a neat little horse, very good minded, great work ethic, complete sweetheart to be around, he's making an awesome cutting horse, just won the open futurity finals in Augusta. I wouldn't have bought him as a barrel prospect though. Anything cowy, absolutely. |

| Yes it would be for a barrel prospect... Was it not very fast? I love working with cutting horses! I have been working with Smart Little Lena babies and it's hard going from working with them to some of the other other race bred colts! |

This particular one wasn't, he was never going any faster than he had to. He wasn't all that big and did not have a very long stride even for his size, he was built for stopping and that he could do very well. He is obviously quick and agile to be doing so well in the show pen, but a lack of speed kept me from ever picturing him on barrels. Maybe a jam up 2D/3D horse. I was riding about 30-40 other horses in cutting training at the time though, and there was just some I was like whew, you need to be a barrel horse! Not the Playgun colt though. |

| I have a gelding out of Playgun. Slowest maturing horse I have ever owned. He is out of a ranchy mare. Good looking, big boned, but takes a while to catch on to everything. |
