Location: on my horse | I noticed a little bit of swelling around my Kelpie's muzzle around dinner time and she wasn't interested in eating which is very strange for her so I called the vet. He told me to give her 50 mg of Benadryl and a half an Aspirin tab, I did as he said and waited three hours, the swelling traveled up her face and she broke out in hives all over her head and neck so I took her in. He told me not to worry yet and gave her a shot of fast acting Dexamethasone and a prescription to pick up in the morning for something to protect her because she had the NSAID and now the steroid.
Is there anything else I can do for her? Are there potential side effects from Dex in dogs? |

Location: stray dump capital of the world | I'm not sure about dex in dogs, just wanted to send you and your pooch some prayers. I'm sure the vet knows what he is doing. |

Location: on my horse | Thank you she is my baby I love this dog like she is my child and I hate to see her so miserable. She's never been sick or had a reaction to anything a day in her life (she's 8). I took her in around ten and will be staying up to make sure she's ok until at least 2. She keeps popping out new hives still

Location: ND--it snows, it floods, it snows, it floods | Seems for us that using Zyrtec over Benedryl works better for future reference. Other then that I have nothing but prayers for your pup. |

Location: on my horse | Thanks for the info I've been watching her like a hawk all night and this morning and will keep an eye out for unaware peeing. She definitely has been drinking quite a bit more than normal. I got her a separate water bowl and put it in my room so I can monitor her intake. |
