| Im so confused on which stud I should be breeding my proven mare too.
I've filled out a few contracts but I havent sent any away because I cant make up my mind! way to many nice boys out there!
Right now the CBHI auction is going on and I'm really liking
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/lds+unleashed
and
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/blue+is+rare
Both are proven, Blue is young but won alot his futurity year.
Unleashed is proven himself as well as his colts!
My mare is all cow bred
I need to make up my mind asap!
What do you guys look for when picking a stud?!

Location: Desert Land | I really like Unleashed. I met him in person when he was a 4 year old. Marci brought him down here to So Cal and stayed with Danyelle Cambell. I was so impressed by him and I like how his babies are looking so far. |

| If you are looking on the CBHI auction site, there are so many proven barrel sires.
Dee Butterfields two stallions
99 goldmine
Blue is rare, I spoke to Rusty and she says he is throwing size in his babies, and the first 3 year old is very trainable
Plain special
Frenchs Hula Guy is the sire to Carmen's French Fry
Wild on Corona has babies winning on the track and have seen some very turny babies in the barrel pen, I bred my dashing cleat, masters hand mare to him, excited about the cross.
I also think Rusty's dash for perks stud will be one to watch in the futurities this year.
I am also excited to see Dawn Gertners pleasure a Perkin babies, I think one is futurity age, as zorro has proven himself in the pro rodeos
Dawns shu can fly was a money earner on the track, but I don't think they have any old enough for the futurities
Unleashed I will be breeding my judge cash mare to him this year.
Sorry I can't think of anymore off the top of my head.
As for what I look for
Temperament, how are the foals trainable, are there any quirks that are passed on and can I tolerate the quirks
Conformation any flaws, any corrective work done as a baby, any flaws being passed onto the foals
Size, how big the babies are on crosses.
Of course proven, proven producer
Marketability, if I need to sell before they are trained, do I have the biggest market

I like both of rusty's studs and I also like fiesta royal, and pleasure a perkin
My mare doesnt have the best of papers, but she was a solid 1d horse and soild in the rodeo pen too till she got hurt. she has terrible feet

| Fiesta Royale!!! He's amazing. Limited offspring will bring the value of his foals up and his pedigree is a no holes. Seen him in person and all I can say is WOW. |

| How many foals has your mare had? Is she throwing size on everything?
What do you want, resale value, tall, short?
Fiesta royale is beautiful, but average size, 15 hands is my gues. I haven't seen any of his foals, and never asked Bruce if he throwing size.
Blue is Rare is taller I think he is 16 hands, and don't think he will ever run by a barrel
Pleasure a Perkin throws good size, I have one out of a judge cash mare who was short and she is the same size as my other coming 2 year olds
Lds unleashed I have seen all sizes but they are all super quick, and super turny
Rasin the moon is dees I believe is what crannas good horse is out of, and all the raisin babies I have seen have been nice size, and want to work
Perfect possibility I think I have the runt she is 14.3 but most are 15-16 hands all the perfects have the same running style IMO see if that suits your needs
Also if your mare is cow bred, I would want to put more run in her, also try and compliment her running style, as if she was too turny or lost speed in her turns, I might choose a free running stud, and vice versa

Location: Alberta | I like Blue is Rare the best of the 2.......the first time I saw Blue (before Rusty had even entered him) I was in love with him, after I saw him competing I was even more in awww such an ATHLETE to say the least AND seeing videos of his offspring in training, they are good minded.
taking nothing away from LDS, cause his babies are blowing peoples doors off too...good looking and athletic!
99 Goldmine I would addto the list, he speaks for himself on producing performers and is closer to you then the 2 you mentioned!
Fiesta Royale has peeked my interest, but I have yet to see him in person...but watching his runs from AZ this winter, holy moly!!
When I look for a stud, besides conformation, performance and pedigree I pick who I THINK would go well with the mare I have!

| she's had one colt and threw quite a bit of size to him. size isnt a huge factor to me, I kinda like them around the 15hh mark anyhow.
I'd like to breed more run into her |
