| I have never had one, and I wonder are they as soft as the 5 star wool pads? I had a 5 star and loved it, but it didn't work for the horse I had at the time. It was sooo soft! are the best ever pads comparable? |

Location: Benton City, WA | I'm not sure because I've never had a 5 star. I think most people think the 5 stars are a step up from best ever.
That being said, I have 2 or 3 best evers (all wool) and I like them. They are my go to pads when its so hot in the summer and I'm wanting something more breathable than my impact gels. They do not have the concussion protection of an IG though. |

Location: You never know where I will show up...... | I have a couple of each, the 5 Stars are softer and I'm thinking they will last longer too. I've only had my Best Ever pad for a little over a year and in that time the horse I use it on has been turned out for 4 months.....it's already looking rather used where some of my 5 Stars are several years old and holding up well. |

I love love my 5 Stars. Why didnt your 5 Star work for the horse you had it on, just wondering.
It rolled..bad.. i couldnt even get on the horse. I had a classic equine esp do the same thing.. the only pad that worked for him was a neoprene pad. |

| I have several friends who have Best Ever Pads, and they don't seem to take every day use and real "riding" as well as the 5 Stars. It seems as if the 5 star would be a much better investment. Have you tried the real thin 5 star? |

| 7/8 i believe. The horses i am riding now actually have withers tho..lol Price wise they are similar..dont like hearing they (best ever) dont hold up |

Location: Natchitoches, La. | I personally love the best ever pads. Mine are prob 3 years old and still soft and have held up really well. Love the way you can customize them too. I have no complaints and will get another one. That being said I have never used the 5 stars but am very happy with my Best Evers.. |

If your saddle is a good fitting saddle you may need to go to a thiner pad |
