Location: Qld Australia | I finally got my samples yah in the mail the other day and have worn the make up for two days and one evening (just grocery shopping lol) and have want to share my experience in detail for anyone who is thinking of buying the product.
At the moment I am in the middle of our Qld summer and it is HOT HOT HOT. Our weather is similar to Florida I have been told so it gives you an idea of the conditions.
FOUNDATION/CONCEALER
COLOURS - I am blonde with medium to fair facial skin. I tan really easily but my face is not tanned much as I am so concious of wearing hats, make up with SPF etc. I ordered the cream foundation, number 3 and 4. The colours are wonderful. There is very little difference between the two, if I was picky I would say 3 is great for winter and 4 for summer. I also ordered the concealer (medium) and the colour is a tiny bit dark but still works fine.
TEXTURE - The make up is quite dry when applying, it applies ok but if you have dry skin I would not recommend this make up as you can really feel the dryness. After wearing the make up the three times my skin is already drying out which is not at all a good thing.
DURABILITY - This was the real test for me. I am outside in the sun a lot and want a make up that will last and not just slide off. I am very dissapointed with the lack of durability of this product. I currently wear cover girl wipped and Cowgirl Dirt does not hold a candle to it for durability. After only about an hour the make up looked like it had worn off and my face had become shiny which does not happen until about 6 hours after applying the covergirl product. I REALLY WANTED to love this product but am not that impressed. I think it would be a good winter make up or good if you are in a cooler working condition eg a cool office or shop etc.
CONCEALER I found the concealer a little dark but I could get away with it. Again it is really dry but I liked the cover it provided.
FINISHING POWDER I ordered the finishing powder and it was hopeless; the tiny sample made it very hard to get a decent cover on the foundation so this impacts on my review. I used my cheap compressed compact powder on top of the foundation on the third wear and this did improve durability of the foundation a small amout.
LIP TINT I ordered both the Flicka and Hollywood Dunnit colours. The tint was very dry just like the foundation and if your lips are dry and you are looking for something to soothe them this is not for you. In saying that, I LOVE the Flicka lip tint. It is a beautiful colour and not at all sticky. You do have to reapply quite often, every half hour or so. On a negative note, this tint really emphasises any dryness on your lips so you need to prepare them well before applying. Combining a chap stick with the lip tint would help moisturising. The Hollywood Dunnit colour I really disliked. It is a really dark drown and far too harsh for my blonde colouring. It probably would suit a darker skin tone.
BODY BUTTER I seems ok, nothing to write home about. Nothing negative either.
FACE SYRUM Again this seems ok, nothing spectacular. Unfortunately this sample leaked all through the package and attracted ants also. :-(
FACE MASK I have not had a chance to try this yet.
OVERALL As I said above; I really, really, really wanted to love this product but on the whole it was nothing to get excited about. In saying that I just LOVE the Flicka Lip tint and will order more. I may order more concealer also. If you have dry skin already I would steer clear of this product as already my face has been dried out quite a lot. I have to give the company kudos for selling samples and also they sent me a discount card in the mail with my samples.
I hope this has helped, I am more than happy to answer any other questions anyone may have. :-)

| Thanks for the report. Very helpful. You should try Josie Maran if anybody is prone to dryness. Maybe more expensive but I love the Argan Oil. |

| Thanks for the info. If you get a chance try Merle Normans Lasting Foundation. It comes in a tube and will last a long time. I also work outside and this is what I have found works the best.

Location: Oklahoma | Thanks for the review! I use a lot of Mark Kay products, I think I'll stick with those. I usually only need a lot of makeup for rodeo queen competitions anyway |

Thanks for the tip - I will look into this one. I am always looing for that 'better' summer, outdoor foundation. I usually find one and am ok with it for about two years and then they will change it or my colour will be discontinued. I did the indepth review for exactly the reason stated by others. Tthe make up sounded awesome in a three sentence review but the reality was a little different. :-( I will say it again though, I so desperately wanted this make up to live up to the hype lol. I still love the Flika lip tint, very pretty though quite dry. |

Location: Florida | I have it and LOVE it! I use the concealer, powder foundation and finishing powder daily and don't find it drying and it lasts me all day in the FL humidity! I tried bare minerals and it broke my face out in intense and painful cystic acne, which is very rare for me.
I was disappointed in the mascara though- definitely skip that. |

Location: NC | I've only tried the southern belle cream foundation, the concealer, and the powders.
I LOVE the foundation!! The coverage is great! And it feels great on my skin.
The concealer feels chalky almost, so I prefer to just use the foundation as a concealer too.
The powder seems to do it's job. I usually put a little over top the foundation for a matte finish.
It seems to last all day and really makes my skin look great.
But I have noticed that my skin is drier in certain spots. It could be the makeup. It could be the cold. I have no idea. But it's not bad enough to make me stop using it!! |
