On big enough for you saddle to fit inside! Just kidding. When I sold my saddle I used a 30x24x24 I think.

ETA: Measure your skirt from front to back for the length, the distance between both sides of your skirts for width and to determine depth measure from the top of the horn down to level with the bottom of the skirt then measure from the top of cantle to the bottom of the skirt. Which ever measurement is bigger either from the horn or from the cantle will dictate what depth box you'll need. So if the horn to skirt measurement is 23 and the cantle to skirt is 20 then you'll need a box depth of at leas 24".

I took a saddle to the U-Haul store and tried it in their boxes. A good heavy box for a reasonable amount.  I don't remember the size.

You need a box that your saddle will fit snug in so it wont move around, the smaller the box the cheaper it will be to ship. I buy my boxes at office depot, I get the biggest they have and my saddles fit perfect.

Uhauls size large box fits a barrel saddle darn near perfect. $1.70 a box!

I would go to my local tack store / saddles sales place and ask them for an empty saddle box. I bet they have a ton they throw away.
