Realized yesterday that despite a beautiful appearance and plenty of "Fire" during a run, my colt had WAY TO MUCH energy from the ultium I was feeding. SO much so he was spooking at stuff that didn't exist and working himself into a lather at such non existent things. LOL So Im not even going to transition him to Triple Crown Senior by mixing the two, just start slowly. Vet said TC is very safe and since its a complete feed won't be as hard to switch. But my question, how long will it take for that Ultium to get out of his system? Thanks! PS, Love TC senior and local places finally carrying it again.

AHA! My horse isn't the only one that gets hot off that stuff! And they said I was crazy. Pfft. I'm not sure how long, I'd guess a few days for it to all pass.

Nope, the funny thing is, when he came off the track he was just fine on it, gained weight, looked awesome. Now that he has been on it 4 months, he is CRAZY on it. He is still fine to ride on it, but in his pen he is a nutt. I don't want to have him hurt himself over it. LOL

I once got mine so amped up on AE and Amplify (the combo does not work well with my horse) that it took me about a week's worth of ground work before I trusted to get on his back. He was so freakin squirrely.

I just remembered to that they are on Orchard grass/Alfalfa mix hay. The Orchard has lots of sugar in it too.

How often and how long do you all ride your horses. Mine feel like slugs no matter what I feed them. Mine get about 6 pounds max when I'm competing. So I'm a bit confused how your horses are getting amped on grain. I've done whole oats w/ multi vitamins. Sweet feed and multi vitamins, ultium strategy white, strategy green, strategy healthy edge. Ultium and a few others. So... is/ are your horses getting rode enough?

Are your horses bred along the same lines? Just might be in their genes to be quiet and laid back.

It is the sugar in the feed that is the problem not he grain.
