Location: South of Canada and North of Mexico | We bought a camper new in 2007, my husband lives in it almost year round, its been all over the us and its time to update some things. One of hte slide outs was leaking somewhere and ruined the carpet, its not needing to be pulled as its moldy from sitting since Oct. Right now the camper is in the shop getting a new roof on the slide out and a stress crack fixed on the bedroom slide. We just got it paid off this past year and are going to keep it a little bit since we have no payments. The problem is now since Im going to pull the carpet out and put new carpet in I want to update the valances/window boxes and maybe pull the boader off the walls.. Im not sure Im brave enough to paint it though. So my husband doesnt like most of the fabrics I like, he actually wants like paul bunyan plaid (buffalo plaid) I say no way. Not sure if its better to put curtains up, or maybe take the day shades down and put in roller shades?? I have googled "rv renovation" and theres a lot of neat ideas under images, but hubby is western/rustic sort, and no camo fabric. All the bedding sets I like at $300+ Here's what our camper looks like, I'd love any kid of ideas to update this and make it cute!! Thank you!

We no longer have this furniture in the camper

We are planning on putting in a darker type carpet, and doing something with the entertainment center as its meant for the old school fat tv's and we want to put in our larger 40" flat screen down there. |

I thinkas you said, updating the fabric would give it a lift. The hard bit will be getting one you and hubby agree on. Sorry, I am not help really but love looking!!!!! |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | The side parts of the window treatments date the camper. Rip those off. The valances might be able to stay. I can't see from the pics well enough as to the color/pattern they are. In my horse trailer I have the valances but they are a plain faux tan leather. To add something to it I bought rolls of fabric fringe at Walmart and stapled them to the inside of the valance. You could probably cover the valances. If you go to a fabric store they have so many different things to choose from. The bedding also is dated. (please don't be offended I'm just giving you my opinion (o: ) The comforter that came with my LQ trailer was cheesy and flimsy. I went to Herbergers (Yonkers in some States) and bought a plain brown quilt and added lots of throw pillows. I don't know how the border will pull off. You might wreck the paneling. I did paint part of the bathroom in my trailer. You have to apply a No Sand or something like it first to prep the surface. Forgot to mention do NOT pull down the day/night shades. We had trailers with roller shades and metal mini blinds - hated them. Right now I have 2 day shades broke in my trailer. Each one has a busted string. It costs a lot to replace the strings but it also costs a ton to replace the shade. I'm still up in the air about repairing or replacing. I noticed on the ceiling of your camper the AC vent is plain white plastic and the light fixtures or plain plastic. I have wood AC cover and I have some pot lights and some plain plastic like yours. I bought a regular house ceiling fixture that my hubby ripped apart, then he took the guts out of the plastic fixture and put them in the household fixture. You can't tell the difference, was way cheaper than buying a regular RV ceiling light and I had way more options to shop for than the very few RV lights out there. You can always change out cabinet knobs too. Easy fix and makes a big difference. I love changing stuff up so I might think of more ways to spend your money. LOL We bought our LQ trailer new. Over the years I've changed so much stuff I don't remember how it looked when we first got it. There was nothing wrong with it, I just like my own style better. I'm lucky and my hubby is super handy. We've been taking my trailer to our shop the last couple weekends getting it ready for spring. A few years ago we added real oak wainscotting and my husband changed the sinks to hammered copper and put new rubbed oil bronze faucets in both the kitchen and bath. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I`m terrible at descriptions. Lol. Its too cold to put my slide out until I get it in the heated shop this weekend. I`ll try to remember to take pictures. I honestly thought I had some but dont know where I put them. (o: |

| My advice is very simple .... DO NOT start pulling trim or other built in cabinets off the walls and create stress cracks and structural problems more than you already have .... everything has worked itself into a stationary ... don't touch me ... state.... so leave it alone ...
Just concentrate on curtains and decorating and anticipating roof and other out side repairs before they harm the inside ...... when you pull the carpet up you may find they used the glued press wood as flooring and need to replace it .... so see what is under there first .. if bad .. you might be able to get away with covering it with 1/4 inch marine plywood and then carpet or pop in wood flooring ...
If it is going to be staying at home a lot ... spend your money on a trailer carport and keep it out of the weather ... How's the brakes, tires, bearings, batteries and other equipment??
The rubber roof flap on the pull out is probably what caused your leak ... they wear very easily on a lot of pull outs ...
You can tell I go for mechanical maintenance vs beautifying the interior ... lol ..

Location: South of Canada and North of Mexico | Thanks for the suggestions. Bearings and brakes are being done while at the shop, battery is new, my hubby lives in it where he is working, in a week it will be heading out to California, last place it was, was in WV. I didnt have much chance to really look under the corner where the carpet looked bad, it was like 30 degrees outside but the camper was still pretty chilly. Had we known when we bought it I would have had awnings installed over the slide outs, the next one will.
I should have mentioned that the pictures of the camper is not mine, same decor, same layout etc. We have installed a ceiling fan with lights, a new new led light under the kitchen sink, besides that its all the same. I have my Amish quilt on the bed and the one that came with the camper is in a bag.. So best picture I can find, but my quilt on the bed. I was thinking of pulling it out since its kind of taking a beating when I come visit with the dogs.

I don't think I have enough courage to paint the cupboards or anything but I think these look so cute. (I loved the idea of changing our the cover on the A/C.
