Location: NC | I wanted to post something that I have been working on the past few months that finally happened this past weekend. Dreaming of Three (http://www.dreamingofthree.org) is a non-profit organization of equestrians working to raise money for charities all over the country. We raise and donate money for cancer research, animal rescues, disaster relief, and more. Overall, we raised over $40,000 last year for multiple charities and causes!!
The DO3 Rodeo Kids program was started as a way for kids with life threatening illnesses to have a night of worry free fun at the rodeo. The NC Team took our first Rodeo Kid, Hunter, to the rodeo this past weekend. Hunter was diagnosed with Stage 2 kidney cancer when he was just 5 years old. After numerous treatments and surgeries, he is in remission for the first time at age 10. He is a great little boy with an amazing family. We met them before the rodeo and Hunter was able to ride my little red gelding by himself for the first time. We took the family to dinner, showered them in presents, then went to the evening performance. We were able to walk Hunter out into the arena in front of a sold out crowd! He and his family were able to enjoy the show & they even stayed for the slack in the barrel racing! We have them hooked I think. ;)
Just wanted to share some photos and the video with you all. Maybe raise some spirits. Thanks!
Here's the video of his big moment: http://youtu.be/8L5CNjbWNtQ
(This was Playboy's first official rodeo. He was an absolute SAINT)

It was his first time riding a horse by himself and my gelding was a SAINT. We were just so proud of him.

One happy kiddo. :)
Holly, Hunter's mom, is afraid of horses. But we managed to get her up there!

| You just can't beat the return on investment - in giving.
Great story. |
