I know your going to love them!!! I never did get out to the stock show. First year in a long time I had to stay home but between the weather, chores and getting my taxes done its best I stayed home. What colors did you order? |

The colors are going to match a beaded & crystal headstall and breast collar that came from Lunans tack and the colors are Baby blue, dark blue and white, The baby blue will be the main color and just one strand of white to make it pop as Gale said. |

Location: MD | Got back in from FL about 3 AM today. We had such a great trip! Mom was so excited by the surprise visit. We got to go to lunch and dinner a few times, went to the beach and she hauled with us to a few jackpots. It was great getting to spend the time with her and be on the road like old days! She was able to see so many of the kids that we ran with when I was a Youth now that they are all grown up and had a ball visiting with old friends. I could definitely tell how much her memory is slipping in general, but she remembered everyone who took the time to stop and visit with her, the horses they used to run and reminisced about specific memories with each and every one of them. I have vowed to make trips back down there much more frequently.
The horses were great. I maybe put a bit too much on the big colt's plate, but he made some great runs. The first Wednesday that we were there, we went to a jackpot in Indiantown and ended up running in a downpour. They cancel if there's a spit of rain around here, so that was a totally new experience for him. He wasn't phased a lick and ran 2nd, .006 off from winning it. The yellow colt had only ever hauled once before this trip, to exhibition. He was very distracted at the first barrel last Wednesday and Saturday. By Sunday, he was focused enough to run 3rd in the 4D. The following Wednesday, he stepped it up and ran bottom of the 3D at a tougher barrel race. By Saturday, he was totally dialed in and was just out of 3D money at the toughest barrel race of the whole trip. The other two horses that went down improved tremendously, as well.
It was great to see Mom and so many old friends. Got to visit so many of the places that helped to shape me into the person and rider that I am today. Of course, my poor hauling buddy swears she has never made so many U turns in her life. Every time I would tell her to turn at the next light, I would then yell "No.Wait! There never used to be a light here!" It's amazing how much things have built up, but it still has that same great feel that I remember growing up with. Funny though it may seem, I sure was glad to pull into my driveway this morning, though! |
