I am actually on a 900-1000 calorie intake daily... I know it seems so low! According to my doctor, my metobolism only needs 900-1k calories to function corectly. I make every calorie count. I always have protein in every meal/snack. I did not give up on my fruits! I love strawberries and eat them every morning. I also have a protien shake I've been drinking for breakfast as well. It has 0 sugars and 15 protiens plus the important omegas. I am not a huge red meat fan. However, I do enjoy fish. I also enjoy chicken. When making salads, I will grill chicken or put some grilled salmon on top of it. Really helps make the salad taste better, plus getting those important proteins you need!
As far as carbs go, I do not eat potatoes (haven't had fries 5 months), no pasta, no bread. If I do eat anything that contains carbs, I go with whole wheat (even though my doctor says no different then white). Just watching your portions. You can ALMOST eat anything you want in small portions. Read LABELS!!! Everything I buy I read the labels. I want to know sugar, protein, calories. Don't eat processed food!
God, itsn't life hard!! It is amazing how we have to monitor our food so closely to live healthy lives. Just remember to drink lots of water, get exercise and enjoy life! I personally had a couple cheat days. We had pizza one night, but I only had 2 pieces! Or we had a piece of pie, we split one piece with 4 people... seems like the little things go a long way |

Location: Idaho | shelltc - 2014-02-24 2:08 PM Congratulations!!! I'm going to follow your lead and call it my new lifestyle too! I got rid of 17 but need to at least lose another 17!!! Oh my! But I feel so much better already. My balance is way improved.
You go girl!! Yes, diets don't last. And I hate calling it a diet. Exercise is for LIFE. I never plan to quite. I think if you really want it bad enough, we all find time for it. In the summer, my plan is when I am riding 10 horses a day plus giving lessons, I am going to go at 5am to the gym. Making a little sacrifice and wake up an hour earlier will make my whole day better I am sure! Keep going and don't give up! |

| 900-1000 calories per day?? I have never heard of any doctor who would recommend such a calorie restriction and I can't imagine that could be sustainable for very long. I'm sorry if I sound like a Debbie Downer. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
Now, CONGRATS on the weight loss! It really is a struggle to maintain a healthy weight. It blows my mind how little food the human body actually needs, dangitt! LOL. |

You are correct. The look I gave my doctor when he said that, I was like dude, I am not going to starve myself to loose weight. And he assured me, with his nutrition degree, etc... that it will be safe for me. I actually only followed that 900-1k calorie intake for the first week. I have gone up to about 1200 calories a day now, just because I am very active and I eat very well, so 1200 calories is still lower then average. But, I do agree, you have to becareful not to starve yourself, etc... THE BIG question is do I have to maintain a low calorie intake for the rest of my life??? IDK |

Sorry! I didn't see this. The pill is called "phetromene" ... the spelling is probably not correct, I do not have them on me right now. But it is a 30 day prescription every other month. My mom also has been on them for 30 days and does not do near the exercise I do and has lost 13# and a full pant size! It is not a life time pill. You go every other month so you can maintain yourself and not rely on it! |
