I gave birth to my gorgeous baby girl last week. Pre baby weight 107 I gave birth at 140. I'm now 129 but my fat jeans still won't button. Aah I can't work out yet due to every physical thing I do I start to bleed all over again. So instead along side breast feeding I have been pumping my daughter has yet to have a bottle but our fridge is filled with a week supply of breast milk all ready.. my theory to this is that I will burn more calories.....what tricks did you mom's use to loose. This is my second child and it took me almost a year with the first to get back to original size. I have horses to start come on body HEAL !!!!!wanted to make sure I added the milk is in the freezer, I will not miss a meal or snack, and this is not my first baby or first time breast feeding. Just looking for little exercises I can do without slowing down the healing process

It took 9 months to put the weight on & will take more than a week to take it off.  Your body is still going through lots of hormonal changes & probably holding onto some water weight until everything evens out.  I wouldn't worry about it this soon & just enjoy it.  Your weight will even out & you need to make sure you eat healthy since you're breast feeding.

Been a long time since my kids were born but I lost my weight best when I ate all fresh foods. Nothing from a box, bag, or can. Fresh/frozen fruit or veggies. Fresh meats. NEVER any soda, cereal, lunch meat, or hot dogs. Also, NO chips, crackers, or bottled juices.

I would say you are doing fantastic!  I am way more vain than I should be.  I weighted 125 when I got prego, and I maxed out at 147 the day I had her.  I weighed 122 when my daughter was 5 days old.  My big thing is salt.  I am a salt-a-holic, so cutting that out, I just shedded the extra water.

Good luck!  I think you are doing fantastic.  Congrats on the new baby!

I am probably not the best one to advise on this as I had my daughter in July and once the winter months hit I gained a bit back but after I had my daughter I lost all of my baby weight within about 2 months. Once the light and the weather changed I ballooned :( I was just careful of what I ate...just good wholesome foods as someone else stated nothing from a box or processed...which is good for your baby if your breastfeeding also. I just worked on trying to be a little bit active from the day I came home. While my husband was home for the week after my daughter was born I would go for a walk to my mailbox after I fed her in the morning. I also strapped her onto me and packed her everywhere with me which I still do. Its a workout packing a 20 pound baby trudging through snow and also packing the horses their hay and grain! Just try to do little things and they will pay off more than you expect.

The only thing I ask is that you don't diet hard if you plan on exclusively breastfeeding. My two nephews are sickly little things...like if they get a cold they are for sure going to the hospital in a few days....and they were exclusively breastfed for 9 months to a year. Their moms dieted really hard while breastfeeding and I sometimes wonder if the boy's nutrition paid the price. But I'm not a doctor so who don't quote me. Just eat God's foods and all will be well :) Enjoy the new little one!!

My son is 12 & I still haven't lost all the baby weight.  Or I should say I lost it & then it found me again.  As you get older it's harder to keep the weight off.

Patience Girl! I started at 120ish, topped out at 150ish, and was back to 120 at 6 weeks, and didn't stop losing until I was around 110#, and that's about where I've stayed. I think breastfeeding melted the weight off me. I hated pumping because it made me so sore and raw, but I had more than my son could eat (I literally could have fed about 3 babies) and I had to buy a deep freezer when he was 2 weeks old. I only was able to breastfeed/pump until he was about 6 months old because of my work, but I was able to feed him breast milk with very little supplementing until he was 11.5 months old. Perfect timing to introduce cows milk! I loved that I could eat as much as I wanted when I was breastfeeding because I was burning an extra 1000+ calories a day, but I still tried to eat well. I'm nt a health food nut, but I avoided overly processed stuff. Lots of fruits, veggies, and baked cracker type snacks. I snacked a ton and ate like a horse at meals, and it still melted away. I look better now than I did pre-baby, IMO (and hubby concurs).
Be patient, it will come off faster than you think :). Especially once you are able to really get active.

I started yoga about 2 weeks out and was on a horse at 4 weeks.  I was back in most of my clothes at that point, but it took a few more months to feel normal again.  Don't rush it, enjoy your baby and listen to your body. I never dieted and ate when I was hungry, tried to eat healthy food, but NOT low fat.  With my first, nursing me put me down to 100 pounds and my second put me down to 110. I'm 5'7"...that was not pretty.

That is what happened to me lol. With my son the weight just flew off and I was down to under 110 in no time. A few years later It snuck up on me and I just couldn't lose that extra weight. If I made a comment about my weight people would say "You have a kid!" yeah... and I looked better a month after I had him then I do now lol.

I am due on the March 17th, I have gained 40lbs so far and I already know it is going to be a chore to get all of the weight I gained off.... and I wasn't where I wanted to be to start with.

I gained 50 lbs with my first and was pregnant with my second less than a year later and gained 55.  Took me many years to loose it and then monopause started and it found me again.

But quick story after my first son was born and I was at my six week check my Dr. (who was awesome - still miss him) asked if I had any questions or concerns to which I replied 'Yes I'm still fat".  He gently put his hand on my arm and said J that's perfectly normal and if you weren't this soon after having that baby you wouldn't have any friends.  It cracked me up.  Still remember it like it was yesterday.  That was 22 years ago.

OP it's been a week.  Enjoy that baby and stop stressing about the weight, give it time.

Yes you burn calories by pumping but you have to eat enough to sustain that. If you pump and don't eat correctly your body actually starts holding onto the calories you do eat in order to have enough to produce milk. I know it sounds backwards but eat MORE. Eat healthy foods several times a day breakfast lunch dinner with 2-3 snacks between. It keeps your metabolism boosted. Our bodies protect our babies first. Also start freezing that milk girl!! Don't let it waste in the fridge :) good luck and remember you are just a week out. It will get there!

Trust me no meal is being lost or snack. Of course the milk is in the freezer...All the milk in the freezer is my ridding time lol dad can take baby and I won't worry she will be hungry..I'm to the point I'm making so much milk she will Over eat from the breast if I'm not careful, then I still have to pump inbetween. I'm pulling 18 oz. A day on top of just nursing. Not complaining though. I have never been one to miss any kind of food. I'm very health conscious I rather work out than starve

My husband was on craigslist this weekend & was like oh my gosh & I was like what & he said there's an ad on here selling breast milk.  I laughed & told him that's big business but I don't think I would be able to buy it that way.
