I have 3 yo colt I just bought a month ago . When I ride him he jerks his head up and fights the bit a little bit (I've tried several bits) the previous owner had run him at jackpots but he's not very bendy and kinda stiff and sensitive in his mouth. Any suggestions and bit suggestions I'm currently riding him in a snaffle

Myler egg butt smooth snaffle is my go to colt bit. Sounds like a retrain more then a bit issue. Once they've had bad experience with a bit it's a long road to quiet the fussiness. For one like that they wear the bit in their stall every day for three or so hours while I work other horses. Always always supervise so they don't get it hung on something. Then they learn how to go in side reins and accept contact before I even get on. Last one I had like this took two weeks before she quit throwing her head around and became quiet. She will always be very light. If they don't like the myler for se reason I have a D ring that's full of copper rollers and a French link that works well with fussy horses.

Have you had dentist or,vet check teeth. They cut new teeth and there caps fall off and they can have some sharp places in there mouth. I would start there first, then i would think training.

I second the teeth, also make sure he was run at jackpots, as if he was then he is in eligible for barrel futurities next year
