My mare just had her baby about two weeks ago. How soon can I start riding her? Maybe a dumb question but I honestly dont know.

I had a mare that I still planned to ride back when I was a kid. She foaled in May and I think I started just riding her around the pasture there at home when the foal was about 2-3 weeks old. Nothing more than a walk trot so the baby would keep up. When foal was about a month or 2 old I would lock him up in the stall and ride her a little more, but never kept them apart for more than an hour. It never affected either. She seemed glad for the excerise and the baby was a turd anyways so she probably was glad to get away from him LOL

Now we buy mares that have been broodmares FOR broodmares so we don't ride any of them.
