The Dallas Buyers Club and The Book Thief.

I have no idea how Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto pulled off the roles they had in The Dallas Buyers Club. Holy smokes! The physical transformations they went through added to acting that I haven't seen from either of them before. While Matthew was still reconizable, Jared Leto was almost not. The content may be a little rough for some people, but I was amazed with the lengths those two went to for this film.

The Book Thief. I thought it would be a little fantasy....a little childish maybe. I was surprised at the content. It is actually a story of a young girl in World War 2 Germany and is narrated by Death. Jeoffrey Rush was fantastic. I enjoyed him a little more in The Kings Speech, but his acting in this movie was nearly as good.

I rarely watch a movie more than once, but I can say that I could easily watch either again.

I also recently watched the Dallas Buyers Club. Had never heard of it, only rented it because I'm a huge Matthew McConaughey fan! I was completely shocked by the look of him! It was a great movie and told a story that needed to be told!

If you all are into shakespeare, I highly recommend The National Theater Live produced production of Coriolanus. It was fabulous. I went to a screening in Chicago, but I think you can watch online as well

http://ntlive.nationaltheatre.org.uk/productions/ntlout5-coriolanus

Plus, Tom Hiddleston is not bad looking either

I watched 12 years a slave this past weekend. It was an amazing movie! It is about an educated black male that is a free man. He has a family and a normal life until he is kidnapped. He is sold and ends up being a slave for 12 years before he manages to get help to get out of the situation. When he returns to his original home his children that were young when he left are now adults and married.During the 12 years he was held captive his family had no idea what happened to him! It is a very touching story and put together really well!!!  It is based on  true story!

My brother said the same thing. A few places mentioned in the movie are right down the road from me. I need to watch that one.
