| What do y'all think? The only thing that worries me is the Beduino but it's so far back is it even going to matter?

 Tried and True

Location: Where I am happiest | I like it. I am curious though, you say the Beduino bothers you and it is 4 generations back. That computes to about 6% of 100. I have had 3 Beduino's in my lifetime, all were grand sons and daughters of so second generation and I loved all 3. All 3 I got along really well with and had absolutelly no problems with. So when I see everybody dogging Beduino I have to wonder, how many actually had personal experience with them themselves, or if they are just perpetuating what they heard somewhere along the line and cant really remimber where or why but just know it is a popular line to hate but they really dont know why? They are NICE horses with a ton of talent and speed and are very very kind. What they arent is one who takes idiots well or those that think handling one rough and erratic is the way to go and the horse will just have to deal with it. Some horses are dull enough and stupid enough to put up with that kind of treatment but Beduino's are not. They are smarter and more sensitive then that. Sorry for the rant. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Beduino is too far back to worry about and unless you have had personal experience with one that was negative, you can't be sure you won't like them. Most hates are hating a single horse that is a small % of that horses breeding...forgetting the rest that could be contributing as well.
Me, I love love Beduino. Most of my mares have him on the papers. I have Special Leader daughter that has a double shot and she is a sweet sweet girl. Runaway Winner is one of his better producing sons, I think it is a great set of papers you have there. First Down Dash is a great cross on all things Beduino it seems. |

| It's honestly reading through the forums here and people scaring me haha. I haven't had any personal experience with them but I've either read really good or really bad. I was pretty sure it was too far back to even matter but I was just double checking with everyone. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I like FDD and What Luck a lot, although I've never had them together. I haven't had a Beduino bred horse because the ones I looked at, I didn't like, but I've seen horses with Beduino breeding a lot closer than this horse that I did like (that belonged to other people). |

Why does everyone not like Beduino??
***********************************************************
People are used to lazy type kid horses that are cold sided, no spunk and not very fast ...
They get a race bred horse with Beduino in it and that is how they blame their lack of riding skills and bad nerves on .... gotta be the Beduino part ...
The speed, hard turning, fast hard gathering and the fast run home just scares the crap out of most people ... so horse has to be crazy to be that athletic ... lol
When bred up close to Beduino and other fast families ... most are smart, learn quickly and remember what they have learned ...
If you are learning to ride a fast horse or need to better your riding skills ... get you a lesson horse and leave the good well bred fast horse to run you to the pay window.
**************************************************************
Here is a good example of scaring the pants off of a lot of weekend warriors ...
Yearling filly that is quicker than lightning and more agile than a monkey and wants to be stroked on like a house cat ... lol
COUGARS MISS BEHAVIN ... she is the barn clown and always has her nose stuck in everything to see whatcher doin ....

If you are not familiar with WINDY RYON ... he was the colt the Phillips Ranch chose to be their future stallion over DASH FOR CASH. DFC had a cut on his shoulder with stitches so he did not get castrated due to popping the stitches and sent to the race track and forgotten about .... until he started winning and they were glad they forgot to cut him ... big time ... lol

Location: Oklahoma | I like the pedigree on this horse, but I will say that I'm one of the Beduino haters. I won't own a horse with it in the pedigree, and I'll tell you why. I've owned at least 10 or more that had him on the papers because they are beautiful, and as everyone said, very smart, sound, and fast, so I'm not basing it on one horse. The problem that I have with them is that they love to run very fast, but they don't particularly like to turn....and that's a problem in barrel racing. The other problem I have with them is that they tend to be fragile minded. Both of these factors, IMO, make them much harder to get consistent for the long term ON THE BARRELS. There's no doubt that they are a force to be reckoned with on the track, but IMO there are MUCH easier bloodlines to train and compete with successfully on barrels, and I tend to buy and train those. However, with this horse, the other bloodlines are fantastic, and IMO, Runaway Winner is one of the best minded sons of Beduino, so if I liked the horse, I probably wouldn't let that one line put me off. I had a horse by this horse's sire and I liked him VERY much. Crago's owned the sire at the time of his death, and they don't have any stallions that are slouches. I also like Streakin Six and everything else on the bottom side. But you probably shouldn't listen to me, since I'm used to riding old dead sided plugs. However, one of those (the one in my avatar) set 5 arena records and won over $100K running barrels. He was by Easily Smashed and was out of a daughter of Streakin Six, but somehow I managed to ride him anyway. ;) |
