| Has anyone tried the "Straight Stirrups" or something of the sort? I currently have alluminum stirrups with rubber and i love the grip buy my right knee is killing me after only one hour of riding... I need a cheep solution please!

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I love my Nettles wooden stirrups, they give more so your knees dont hurt or try the Walls slanted stirrups they help with the knee pain. The Tack Stop on here has the Wall's stirrups.

Location: So. Cali. | I ride in SA Walls slanted stirrups and love them. Need to invest in a second pair. Defiantly notice a difference when I ride in a saddle without them.

Location: The barn...where else? SW Missouri | My mom has had a knee replacement and the other knee has arthritis. We trail ride a lot for hours at a time, so she bought the Walls twisted and slanted stirrups. She loves them!!! She bought the nettles and tried them and liked them, but these work much better for her. I'm saving up for a pair for myself.

| I'm convinced its as much the saddle itself as the stirrups. I had terrible knee pain in my old saddles that was helped some by a pair of wider bottom, slanted stirrups - but even in the "normal" stirrups that came on my crown c, I have almost zero knee pain while riding... |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | I don't have problems with my knee hurting but i do have problems with my ankles hurting. I ride in slanted stirrups and that helps but like right now I'm in between horses having to take a break because my ankles and bottoms of my feet are throbbing.

| Thanks everybody!! I have a couple Billy Cook's from OK and Teskey Saddles and it is always my right knee... It probably dont help that i'm pretty short to boot! So what is the benefit of having the slanted/Twisted walls vs just the slanted ones? |

My mom called the Walls company and got to talk to Mr Walls. He was very nice and helpful to her. She told him about her knees and he recommended the twisted and slanted. |

| I got slanted stirrups put on my trophy saddle, which I pick up this weekend. I can't wait to get it home! Even if it doesn't fit like I hope it does, I can at least take the stirrups off and put them on another saddle.
My knees are fine now, but I've only gotten back on about 2 weeks ago since December. The long break showed me that yes, it is riding that is hurting my knees since they don't hurt at ALL now. I am hoping that the slanted stirrups help. |

Location: Mississippi | Walls Twisted and Slanted Stirrups with the 3" bottoms are my favorites. I do have some Walls Slanted 2" ones and they are better than regular stirrups but the Twisted/Slanted 3" ones are the best, in my opinion. I have had Nettles, Crooked Stirrups and other brands. Call Mr. Walls and he will fix you up. |

Location: your guess is as good as mine | The Walls slanted stirrups helped my knee pain tremendously. Unfortunately after severely spraining my left ankle a few years ago I can no longer ride with them, so have to just put up with the pain. But I would highly recommend them...  |

| I had some of those 30 years ago for some reason i didn't like them? Twisted stirrups are the way to go but I can't find them in a 4" bottom. I have the big boxy looking type and love em if I could find twisted stirrups with the big 4" rubber bottom i would buy them. I would not skimp on money where your body is involved. |

Location: PNW | I like the 3 inch MOSTLY for getting on. Lol there is more surface to put your foot on. And overall it just adds some stability to your foot/leg position.
I TRASHED my knees in high school playing varsity volleyball AND basketball for all 4 years. I've torn both ACLs, my miniscuses (spelling?) several times, and my right MCL twice.
My knees hurt when it's cold, when it's hot and when I breathe, Walls are on ALL of my saddles and have made a tremendous difference. I used to get off after a long day of working horses and barely be able to walk - Walls have helped A LOT. I also bought myself a Back on Track knee brace for each knee and wear it when it's cold and I'm riding. |

| I found after knee surgery it helped tremendously to lengthen out my stirrups. It took some getting used to and more leg strength but it works. |

| The way the slanted or crooked stirrups work is that your leg is straight down and not with the ankle and foot leaning outward like with a regular stirrup. This will ease your knee pain. I won't ride in anything else after using these. I shattered my left ankle and my knee is severely rubbing bone on bone. This is the only relief for it. |
