When and how do you introduce your hopeful future barn pup to the barn?
Ive never had a dog under a year old so this puppy thing has been a shock so far!

Do you still bring them if you need to do stalls or ride?

Any new dog/ puppy we get. Is put on a slip lead and put on my belt loop in heel. I am lucky and train. So I am home all day. Puppy stays on the leash for at least a month or longer. Before I let one off leash in the barn. They must have a good recall and leave it command. All dogs are tied OUTSIDE the arena/or round pen when I'm on a horse. And I try to make it the same place. I give the command out of the pen. So they learn where to lie down and wait. It's like the patience tree for dogs. They learn when I'm on a horse where their spot is. Anything else feeding leading grooming is on my belt so they learn horse manners. Congrats on the new puppy!!!!
