So my roly poly two year old is giving my trainer heck by having no withers. Def can't be ridden without a breastcollar. She's my first this way. Usually I'm riding an appendix horse with super high withers. How do y'all handle this with a two year old when you know their back shape will change a ton in the three years they still have to grow but don't have anything that will fit them right?

The most interesting thing anyone has said to me lately was the Martin saddle fitter this weekend - horses don't have high or low withers, they have varying degrees of muscle atrophy. So in their theory your mutton withered horse has superior back muscle and little to no atrophy...
I know a lot of folks don't believe that theory, I'm interested to see how my boy changes shape over the next few months now that I have a saddle that fits and is leaving him some room to grow
