In the next day or so I am going to advertise my barrel saddle for sale on the internet. I have never sold a saddle over the internet and would like some advice from those of you who have done it before! How do you exchange money? Any other tips/do-don'ts would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Your best bet is to have a PayPal account you can use to ensure that the funds clear BEFORE the saddle ships. Take lots of pictures (with a tape measure) as you'll get lots of questions wanting measurements. Include as much information as possible in the ad to avoid receiving emails asking for the same information.

You are always such a great help! Thank you! What kind of information should I be sure to include?

Get on the Tack for sale page and see what others or putting on their ads. You want brand of saddle, seat size, gullet size. Pictures from all angles, use a measuring stick to measure the seat size and have a picture of this too. If you know the year it was made in. Check for payment, but you wait 10 days for it to clear and make sure the money is there in your hands are account befor you ship the saddle out. And most of the time the buyer pays for shipping, sometimes I pay for it are split the cost. I have sold a few saddles and never had a problem. And dont take payments....

I also always show the makers mark and any stamped serial numbers or identification plates, helps reassure the buyer of what they are getting
