Porta Potty Pants Posts: 2600	My gelding … I've owned him for 3 years. No issues. Last week during one ride, I noticed he seemed a little like he was walking "peg legged" as I pulled him out of the stall. He walked out of it fine … riding and walking fine since … all good until yesterday evening I went to feed and noticed him walking "off" in his stall. Same thing .. .not an obvious limp, but just looking like he was aggravated by something .. pulled him out and walked him around … listening to his feet hit the ground, the front feet do sound different, so he may be striking the ground differently on one side then the other. Walked out of it. This morning, same thing. Farrier is going to call me with his thoughts. Not sure if he just got too long (a week overdue), an abscess developing, or something else. There is no swelling in the front, no hot spots, nothing "noticeable". It's very subtle. I'm in a watch and see mode and am beginning to think I'm imagining things. Couldn't come at a worse time (as usual right).

Front .. and yes, kinda like stabbing his toe down and not flexing except at the shoulder .. you described it … it reminds me of a little kid wearing shoes that are too big or heels and trying to make sure they don't fall off your feet. He normally walks out of it … and that throws me a little bit. And he has "stubbed his toe". Particularly when his attention is on something like a horse walking by or a kid/dog and he's not paying attention to where he's going. Edited by azsun 2014-04-22 1:25 PM

I think I'd have to see the vet.

Certified Snake Wrangler Posts: 1672 Location: North MS	I remember reading about a horse that had a bone chip in its knee that did that. After it warmed up and moved around some it was fine. Stalling it caused the horse to get (pardon the expression) stove up
