I bought this one to use this year:

I haven't put it on other than to check fit so I can't comment on how hot it gets yet. I can say the fit is REALLY nice and it is very well made.

I bought mine to keep my geldings sarcoids covered. The flies pick at them and make them very irritated. I think the one I bought isn't necessarily the highest UV rated but I would definitely recommend Schneiders for their fit. Look for the adjustable shoulder and extra wither panel.

TBone - 2014-04-24 8:05 AM  WOW...  your horse looks FABULOUS!

I was really not even considering the Kensingtons cuz the material seems so hard and not very comfortable or body conforming.  But this has really made me think twice.  They are quite expensive though, with the neck piece they are $178 and I need to buy two!!!

I was leaning towards the Amigo Mio for $69.99 or the Amigo Stock Horse for $75.  Or Jeffers has a Dura-Mesh Detach A Neck for $125.

Ah thank you and that is literally with him out in the sun (we get in the high 80's to high 90's from about July on) for a good 7-8 hrs a day. They are stiff at first but really conform to the horse, especially once the sun hits them and warms the material up, it has left no rub marks and the neck piece has a small nylon area that goes over the mane to prevent rubs (as that is another huge no no with show horses). I buy mine form a Mary L Cutis on facebook and she gives a great great deal on them. Better than anywhere else I have seen them sold online. They also stay put where most of the others I have tried slip sideways really bad no matter what I did to prevent it.
