Very sorry for your loss. It's never easy, but especially bittersweet when you lose a mare during or shortly after foaling.

Thank you. I know that there is always a chance of losing the mare, foal, or both. But it still breaks your heart. At about the same time our filly was born, a family down the road had a mare lose her foal at foaling. I was worried about the mare accepting this filly, but as soon as I got them in the pen together they went right to each other. She was looking for a baby as much as our little girl was looking for a mommy. I am so thankful to have found this mare.
