| So now I am on to my 8th saddle, this one was a crates with equifit and probably the best fit, but still doesn't work. Every single saddle just wants to tip up in back and then bobble around when he walks. Tried hard to make this one work with different pads, shims, etc and then still almost got bucked off. My horse seems to hate every treed saddle anyway and he seems to have an extreme over reaction to certain saddles and then I have a rodeo, I'm getting him checked out by a vet next week just as a precaution. But anyways he looooves riding bareback and I am so tired of saddle fitting so I think I am just going to give in and get him a bob marshall even though I think they are ridiculous looking lol. What I am wondering is, what is the problem with the circle Y versions? I keep seeing so many people that hate them, but they appear to be identical to the originals. I had a circle y years and years ago but all I can remember about it is the horn and pommel being sooo high. I also had a brand new original and only sat in that 5 minutes before boxing it back up lol. Also had a just be natural, the trail version, and that thing was aweful and the pommel angles were all wrong. I definitely want something very well used and broke in, but not abused, so what should I be looking for? |

| Never ridden in a Bob Marshall or a Circle Y BM. I DO have a Just B Natural treeless and it rides just like a treed saddle. Lets you get up and move and ride as well as keeps you secure. |

| What causes a saddle to pop up in the back? My husbands saddle is like that. After he's saddled and walks off to go to the arena, his saddle is popping up in the rear end. Can't be a good fit but I don't know exactly how to remedy it. It's a 14.5 Court roping saddle. We just bought this horse and he's a little underweight, so would that have anything to do with the fit? |

| A saddle popping up in the back is usually due to a Way Too wide gullet. Could also be a bars issue or a twist issue (too much). Usually gullet. |

Location: Washington | I had a BM by Circle Y. The pommel angles were all wrong, the Original BM are better. I LOVED the saddle but it messed up my horses back. I've had to do a lot of work to get him moving right again and fix what the saddle did to him.
I cant find before pics to show before and after or I'd attach them. |

Location: Finally horseback again.... | I had a Bob Marshall and loved it but the previous Circle Y treeless saddles were just not made as well. Try looking at Circle Y Tammy Fischer or Jackie J saddle. I have a Fischer and is is WAAAYYYY better than my old BM. It is a little more stiff and the stirrups do not get behind you. I believe that Jackies model may have a lower horn. So far I love mine but you have to use a pretty short girth to keep it from slipping around. |

He had atrophy behind his shoulders. It didn't fit properly, was a little less knowledgeable about saddle fitting at that time, and even after many pad changes. The pain it caused made him move "upside down" so his back got weak. I have since changed back to a treed saddle, was too afraid to try any of the others, and have a good fit with the right pad and have done dressage work with him to build him back up. It's been less then a year but he's looking much better already with what little work I've been able to do. I will try to upload pics...... One is of a month ago straight out of the pasture, only rode twice in two months, the other two are 1st time long lining and 2 months later, you can see a diference in how he uses his body.

| Thanks.
So I am wondering how wide are the gullets on a bob marshall? I realize they don't have a tree, but they do have a hard pommel and must exert some pressure when cinched down. |

Location: PNW | I had a BM by Circle Y. It fit my horse great, and is the only saddle besides an Ultra Rocket that has ever worked for him.
One thing I would be careful of, is it did make his loins sore a bit. |

Location: Peach State | I have an original BM (sports saddle round skirt all roughout, pretty much hideous) but it was a great deal and ride really well for my tiny mare that's practically a pony. She goes to the chiro regularly and hardly ever has any back soreness.
Also have the jackie j by circle y and LOVE IT! I have ridden a lot in a tammy version but feel too trapped in it. I really like the feel of the new ones by circle y better than the old BM. The seat is slightly tilted and the stirups seem to have a better angle. |
