| I know people are going to respond with "sponsors come to you" but I don't necessarily believe that. I'm curious to know how one would get their foot in the door... or maybe even a toe... As an amateur barrel racer, how do you begin looking for potential sponsors? Because i can almost guarantee that the ones winning the major shows (those that are deserving of sponsors) did not make it to that point without having sponsors already. So what is the best plan for maybe trying to get companies to potentially sponsor you? start local? Im not looking for mean responses this is stemmed from pure curiosity (: |

Incorrect. Maybe by sponsors you mean dad, mom, sugar daddy, independent wealth... But there are those who are "winning at major shows" without sponsors or wealthy parents.... Most sponsors don't give $$$ anyways, but product. |

I agree, I have a few sponsors that I worked my butt off to earn. You just have to go out there, win and have fun! |

Location: Displaced Iowegian | First you have to be a "winner".......nobody wants to sponsor a loser.......then, start small on your local level....only "ask" those who you actually support with YOUR $$ like your feed stores, tack shops, etc.....offer them something for THEIR support like advertising on your shirt, trailer, etc. and hit the road....... |

| As a manufacturer I have a lot of experience with sponsorships.
Over the years I have had many women who I sponsored and except for a very few we got no sales. Everyone wants to wear a patch but when we check to see who is actually selling customers on our products very few have stuck to the agreement. You get money from me you talk about the products and they call the office and buy.
The one person who I still sponsor is Tana Poppano. She talks bout the product and we get call's from costumers who say they heard about our company from her.
So if you want sponsorship you better have sales results unless you are a constant NFR competitor who everyone recognises your name.
