was a one day show but similar to those that run multiple days with 2 or 3 sections that comprise one big class? Like for instance we have a show on Saturday with $1000 added, one class only, but it is divided into 2 sections, where you can run one section or both sections but the total entries from both sections go toward one big payout?
Example: $1000 added. 95 entries in section 1 and 135 entries in section 2. Payout for the class would be $1000 added plus the entry fees of 230 total entries, rather than two smaller payouts.

Hope that makes sense... Trying to gather ideas on new concepts to bring to our area next year that would make our association different from others. Ideas/thoughts?

Yes usually the more  that enter the more places they pay. I like 2 sessions you get a break in between.

I think this is how the Bonus Race Finals is?  I don't have a problem with it.

Yes, I would go to one of these in a heartbeat. I would love not having to take up a whole weekend with a show with a great payout.

I personally like the ones that you can call ahead/pre-enter.

post a draw a few days before so everyone that called ahead can get an idea of when they need to show up vs sitting around and waiting all day. Anyone that shows up the day of without pre-entering gets put at the end of the 2nd section.
?just an idea for you

This is done frequently in Texas and Oklahoma at the larger shows. Often they run over a couple of days with one payout and will have two runs the same day. Some let you run more than once-just have to be in different sections. I may be wrong, but am wondering if a one day show would bring in enough contestants to make it worth having your help there for that length of time. With two divisions you would have some down time and unless you had several hundred contestants in each section it seems that you would have a lot of dead time.

Does that mean you pay 2 entry fees if you chose to run in both sections?

In between sections you could have exhibitions so you wouldn't have dead time

I know these are done in TX and other places for multiple day shows, but we don't have anything like that here in NC. Was just curious for how it would work for a 1 day show.

And yes, you would pay 2 entry fees if you entered both sections, or just 1 entry fee if you chose to run either section.

I am just thinking of ways to up the payout without having to go to a 2 and 3 day show and spend a ton of money.

Yes and it happens frequently that a horse/rider combo will win two checks.
