Location: relocated to Texas | River - 2014-05-10 7:44 PM I have a owned a red deluxe saddleright pad for 8 years. I have a really short backed gelding now so I wish it was a tad shorter in length. Not to change topic, but what is the best way to clean the suede top? My cat was shot with a .22. He came home, jumped on my saddle stand that this pad was laying on, and slept. Meanwhile he bled all over my saddleright. I have tried hydrogen peroxide, grease lightening, and soap/water to remove the blood stains which helped but still not great.
You can send this pad back in and get a new one for about $150. You can order another color and length if you like, no additional charge. Saddleright is the only company that will do this. Call them and tell them you want to order a recover pad. They will make you a new pad and you can use your old one until you get it. When you get the new one, you ship the old one back in the box the new one came in. You do have to pay for the shipping, but it is a lot cheaper than buying a new pad. I would say pretty cheap use of any pad for 8 years. Measure your pad and order it an inch or two shorter depending upon your horse's back. I think the Western deluxe starts at 28". Standard size pad is 30". |

I have one of the round pads but i no longer have the saddle. Do you think they would let me do the $150 exchange for a square western pad?
To the OP i have two of the square pads without the wear leathers. I prefer the solid color so i didnt order the deluxe. I have the toast color and i kind of dont like it. I have two sorrels with flaxen manes and tails and it matches their coats and my saddle to well. Its to monochromatic i guess. I just bought a navy blue one and i love it as a neutral color. I didnt order black because i thought it would be to harsh on my lighter colored horses. My round pad is brown and i hate that color as well, i had a really hard time deciding on a color. I wish they came in the grey wool without the suede. |

Location: Phoenix | I'm debating on brown or black...for a dark sorrel/chestnut. I know black looks good because I have a black pad already. I really want the chocolate brown but worried it would blend in too much. I've seen it on the same color horse...I guess I'm just overthinking it. I'll prob get brown haha |

Location: Texas | I am also a dealer! You take turn in any style of the saddleright pad for a "Recover". Send in your round style and change to square. They make the standard (no wear leathers) in any size you like as well as the deluxe with the wear leathers. most of the pads I am ordering are in a 29 length for the square skirted saddles. I prefer the wear leathers myself but some prefer the shorter style. They are running three weeks out on delivery at this time. |

Location: Texas | Keep in mond that the black does fade a bit quicker than some of the other colors. The Toast or Rust might be worth looking at! We are currently using black, brown, and gray. |

I think they probably would, might charge you what the original difference of the pads would be. Like if the pad you bought was $200 and the square was $225, they might charge the $150 plus $25. I don't know. Call Saddleright and talk to them. The gal that takes the orders is very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. They do have a pad with a wool top instead of the suede if that is what you would like. I think it is cheaper too. I don't know how the wear of the wool compares to the suede, as I have always had the suede.
As far as color goes, my favorites are the black and English toast. I ride a lot of horses and they are the most versitile. I always use a liner under my pads, if I want color, I will use a thin Navajo instead of a liner. |

Location: Texas | The rounds are the same price as the squares. 269 for the standard models, 289 for the deluxe models. I sent one in for a "Recover" and traded it up to a deluxe. My trade in was 12 years old, never used a liner, was 26 long standard, and was in bad shape. |

I have always wanted a brown one- I saw BROWN:)
Also- just so you know, the CSI is a lot lighter in weight if you get the half inch liner. And just to clarify- they did not use neoprene it was actually PVC foam which does breathe but I know they have discontinued it.
I have both- like both. I prefer the way the Saddleright "looks" vs that carpet top on the CSI but I think both are great pads. I do know from experience that Saddleright has EXCELLENT customer service. |

They have a nice darker grey color that looks good on any horse, doesn't show the dust. My black saddleright shows the dust and dirt. |

Location: Midwest | Here is mine. I bought it used, and it still looks brand new. Sorry, you can't see too much of it, but this is the only pic I can find. I use it very often actually, and if you need a thinner pad, I think it works well with a lot of different saddles.
Found a better picture

Only the last one is the deluxe western, the other two are the all around. I like the deluxe slightly better, the all around "bleed" when the horse starts to sweat a lot. But other than that I have no issues with them.
