| I have the opportunity to move to Conroe, TX. I do not know anthing about this area. Are there a lot of places to barrel race there? Any opinions or thoughts are greatly appreciated. Conroe is north of Houston. Thanks:-) |

| Yes, there are barrle races to go- probably 4 times a week if you wanted. Conroe is very pretty if you get out away from the city a little. Lots of big trees. Larger producers in our area are Wrapn3, their shows are west of Houston in Gonzales. You are about 2 1/2 hours from Waco, where big shows are held through out the year. Elite has one coming up in July. Local arenas are Magnolia Community Horse Club, Willis, Cowboy Country in Huntsville, Magnolia Cowboy Church, LoneStar Cowboy Church, New Caney- just to name a few. All of these arenas are probably in a 40 mile radius of each other and have jackpots on the weekends and weekly night series. A lot of people make 2 races in the same day. South of Houston there are a ton of arenas too that have jackpots. Gulf Coast Barrel Racing Association is south of Houston. You will never be without a barrel race to go to all year long.

What she said.
You also have STBRA which runs Brenham (1.5 to 2 hrs), Giddings, Bryan, Huntsville (some).

| Bryan is where the Diamonds and Dirt is held - about an hour from Conroe :) You are close to Crockett too which is north of Conroe- they have alot of races.
You are not too far from Fairfield, north about hour and 1/2 which has a really nice new big facility and puts on big shows that are getting great reviews :)

| NBHA 30 and 26 run around Conroe. Then there is magnolia arena which has its own series. Magnolia also hosts barrel races like STBRA. Huntsville has bring a friend barrel race on Thursdays and hosts STBRA runs. There is plenty to do around Conroe. |

Location: In a happy place | I just moved to the Huntsville area in January and have been to a few barrel races with friends and everyone seems to be really nice. Hope you like it. I still miss Waco but this is not a bad place to live. |
