If anybody has ever had their horse diagnosed with Calcification in Suspensory Ligament, could you please let me know how you treated it and managed it.  Were you able to get your horse completely sound and keep it sound??   The vet said it's very rare in a horse this young (5).  He said it looks like a horse that has been injected with cortisone a lot.  We have owned him since early three year old year and never injected him. I would like some feedback on ANY experience with this.  We injected with Tildren.  If this don't work then we will start shockwave.  THANK YOU for any response!

I had a 4 year old with calcification from an old injury where the suspensory tied into the DDFT.   Switching farriers helped tremendously, and she was sound for light riding, but if she played too hard or was used too hard, she would gimp a little for a couple of days.  Vet said we could maybe inject and get her in corrective shoes to get her comfortable enough to run, but there was a risk of tearing the calcified area.  She was so young, and I wasn't very far into her training, so I chose to cut my losses.

"THANK YOU" very much for letting me know your experience with this.  This particular horse lameness comes and goes (and slight) and he actually performs very well.  It's the first time in all the years we have been in the horse business that we hit a wall with an diagnosis like this (most things you can fix).....there's just nothing you can do to reverse or heal it.  We're hoping the Tildren works, if not...shockwave for step 2.  That's why I created this post hoping to hear anybody elses experience!

I haven't had experience with it.  But you might try Ice Vibe Boots or the Theraplate

I'm only basing this on the treatment options you've mentioned in this post (Tildren and Shockwave). But, it sounds like this injury must be at the point of insertion on to bone or a joint? Or else, just out of curiousity, why would Tildren benefit?
I have dealt with a small calcification of the collateral ligament at the point of insertion on the coffin bone. Shockwave brought the horse back sound (and time of course).
