With my previous babies it was always my seat that went because of my core, this time my seat is fine but I cant get on. Seriously nearly pull my mare right over its BAD and I have 3 colts to get riding .... I have got to get more gracefull. My pour little mare has been a saint.

I need some ideas for exersizes I can do. Its not the mobility in my hip its my get on mussle up and left me lol. Ive started doing squats but it hasent made a difference yet, but I just started going to keep at it :-)

Please tell me im not alone and what works for you. It acatualy upsets me when I go to get on and its so hard for me.

Use a mounting block to save your horse's back, and keep doing strength exercises. Your core is involved in mounting as well as your leg muscles.

Sounds like it is your leg muscles. Mine were absolutely gone after I had my son! I could get on but was so tired after I trotted for just a short amount of time. I did a ton of long trotting and posting seemed to help me get right back to where I wanted to be in just a couple weeks! Plus your horse gets in shape at the same time. Good luck & congrats!

Can you do leg presses? Keep up with the sqats - that works so many areas, they are nothing but good!

No babies, but I always use a mounting block, step-stool - whatever - I am SHORT and my horse is TALL - I have to put my foot about the height of my shoulder to even reach the stirrup while I am on the ground.

I will stand on something to get on in the yard, but our in the cattle pastures there is not much around the get on with.
I also will not us a mounting block on a colt, I dont feel it is safe to have in the pen. (Just my personal thoughts I know some do it just makes me nervous and uncomftrotable not good feelings whiel on a colt lol)

I have 2 of the big plastic muck tubs sitting upside down in my round pen. They're not actually there to mount from, but could be used that way. I use them as a visual for groundwork and riding babies.

LOTS of stair stepping. My knee was busted out so it hangs up a bit. If I don't do the stairs I don't have enough strength in my leg to lift myself. I have to dismount on the right side. Keeps doing the squats, more muscle is better than none.

Im such they are very handy.

I unfourtintly witnessed a freak accident with a colts first fide that ended very badly. Thought it was a freak deal and alot to do with how a fractus colt was pepared for his first ride i just cant feel completly comftrotable for the first few rides with objects in the pen

I don't mean this ugly, I'm honestly curious.  Why are you putting first rides on colts when you are not physically recovered from pregnancy enough to mount easily?

Im not putting first rides on until im ready, id just like to be ready sooner than later so I was asking for advice on exercises that could help. I also have a nice green horse to ridethat I havent ridden because I know I won't do her any help or justice yet. Im only riding my older broke to death mare right now to get back riding fit

Ah, ok, I gotcha.  ETA:  I guess the mounting block deal won't be an issue because you won't need it by then.

I had issues getting on after having my son too. I felt like I was dragging myself up there, my poor horse. I walked alot and ran what I could. I did alot of ab and leg excercises. Now I'm back to normal and can get on with ease again.
