I know they aren't reusable but if you make a run the the morning then in the afternoon, will they still work if you leave them on between runs?

Maybe but I doubt it. Its hard for me to keep them on my horse for one run. lol But with eating hay, drinking, etc. Not real possible I don't think. But hopefully someone else will answer with better news

Depends.

I tried them last weekend on my gelding who's been taking a while to recover after a run in muggy weather.

He rubbed the first one off pretty immediately.

I put the one I had bought for the next day on and got on right away, didn't give him a chance to rub. It lasted an hour or so after our run. His now was cleaned with rubbing alcohol and dry prior to application and I did not touch the strip adhesive. It also rained several times while i was warming up, so it got wet. It also cooled the weather off so I can't really say if it helped him or not. It was muggy and hot on Sunday, but I was without another strip to try.

Adhesive that you can get at a racing supply store was suggested. I found some but opted not to drop the $10 on the huge can on the off chance I didn't continue using the strips. In my horses case he rubs anything on his face, so it probably wouldn't have made them last more than a day anyway.

I was told last night that if you do have the adhesive, you can most definitely use them more than once...I wasn't sure where to get the adhesive though?! Or what it was called? As expensive as they are...it'd be nice to get more than one run out of them

I have had them last through doubleheader races and I've also had horses rub them off in 5 minutes. What I have found works the best for me is to put the strip on literally right before I bridle and get on. That way they don't have an opportunity to rub it off. After a run if I'm needing the strip to stay on, I'll scratch their face if they want it so that I have some control over keeping the strip from being rubbed off on the trailer.

I had a horse that would leave it on for days… I also keep the area shaved so it can stick better.
