using a back up horse that is in need of injections

A friend of mine's good horse got cut up and is having to use her back up horse that needs hocks injected
(not lame and not- not working, just needs the maintenance
).
What can she do to make life easier? We are going to a clinic together. The horse is in shape and has been being ridden consistently. I have BOT hock wraps she can use, volterran
(SURPASS
), DSMO, bute, banimine, standing wraps, liniment and just about every other basic you can think of. I saw someone post on here about mixing volterran and DMSO- thoughts?
any input other than "your stupid don't do it" is welcome. Not my option, I'm just trying to help someone out.

I'm so happy you said that. I do have about 2 doses left of pentosan. I wondered if her getting a shot or two would make a difference since she's never had a loading dose.

I don't have dex or previcox. I do have bute and probios though? I can pretty much assure she doesn't have those either. She's more of a only buy it when she's needs it instead of a keep it in case you need it later person

I say loading dose, schmoding dose.
Give it 24-36 hours out of first day
(race, clinic, etc.
)
Note: I give every single week. Once a month won't cut it for me, it's too cheap to not give it before every race, IMHO.

I think I missed something in the first post, why doesn't she just get the horse injected?
Adequan is great for maintenance and in some horses can lengthen the time between injections. Legend can be given Friday before a long weekend. I can't remember the efficacy period on it but is is like 72 hours.
I personally like to stick with Adequan because it has gone through the drug trials and I know what I'm giving has been deemed safe for most horses. A lot of people have had good luck with other things though.
