Location: British Columbia | My colt, as everyone knows, is on stall rest for 10 days after being diagnosed with Wobblers. He's lost significant muscle mass in the last 4 days. I walk him 4x a day for roughly 10minutes each time, but my vet recommended he stay in his stall as quiet as possible. He has another 6 days to go and I don't want his condition to deteriorate more, is there some kind of feed supplement I can give him without being counterproductive to his recovery?(he is getting only free choice grass hay and just enough feed to mix the steroids in with twice a day) |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I'm sure Bob could do a really nice Muscle Mass mix for you. It will definitly add some muscle and the vitamins and minerals and all the other good things in it will sure be beneficial. I'm no expert on wobblers, but he can possibly add something that can help and if you needed a calming, that could be put in as well. I would recommend ulcer prevent as anything stalled seems to get ulcers. Just the stress of what he is going through may cause them. I'm a distributor and if you are interested, send me a pm and we can see what can be done. |

I am cautiously optimistic that he is improving. I did the tail-pull test and he did not fumble or trip, he stood his ground and pulled in the opposite direction. His walk is stronger also, but his left leg still moves inward oddly. We all hope he will recover 100% but if even if he just doesn't worsen the vet feels he could be a sound light riding horse later on, and with his very calm, cool attitude he could very well be a good husband horse. |
